Endorphins All the Way Down

I was running the other night when, after about an hour, suddenly I felt so good, so incredibly good, that I found myself nearly shouting, out loud, to the empty dark around me, "I HAVE NEVER FELT THIS GOOD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! THIS IS AMAZING!" And then, because I, in the words of one friend, "can't turn it off," I paused for just a moment before adding, still shouting, "I DON'T KNOW WHY THE EXISTENCE OF A RUNNER'S HIGH HAS BEEN SO HOTLY DEBATED IN THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY. THIS IS CLEARLY CHEMICAL. WHEEEEE!"

It's probably a good thing, come to think of it, that I was running alone at night: in the dark, no one can see you make an endorphin-fueled fool of yourself.

Ok, this is entirely funny. Two posts totally proves the existence of the phenomenon, I say.

note: you were in my dream last night. you lived next door to my grandparents in pasadena. you had a hot dog stand in your basement. that is all.

Hmm. Perhaps I should take up running. But then, my roommate would probably tell you I don't need the endorphins from a runner's high to act like a crazy idiot. (And she'd be right)

Good idea or BAD IDEA?

Oooh, ooh, I know this one: bad idea. But I had to go running, and that's the only time I could find. Plus, someone, somewhere, should be glad I did, since I got the chance to stamp out a small fire starting next to the path I was running on. I felt like the rhino in "The Gods Must Be Crazy." Totally worth running at night.

Some of my fondest memories of running are shirtless in south Provo at 10:30 pm. Of course a shirtless SC likely has a different effect on surrounding hoodlums than a shirtless Petra.

Hey Hannah! I to was on a running high a little over a week ago. Just about to yell out hooray when I tripped and skidded on the asphalt. Still healing so no running for a while. I am a mess. So much for the high.

By the way happy you have a blog to....

Haha! Ahh, the rhinos--thank you for that funny mental image/movie flashback. I still remember how badly my face and stomach hurt after watching "The Gods..." for the first time at your house. Good times.
