A Round of Applause

In the past few days I have:
  • climbed a large hill to look over the Sea of Galilee into Israel, Syria, and Lebanon
  • gotten hit on by Ahmed the hot hot mounted policeman
  • listened to a bagpipe band play "Amazing Grace" in an ancient Roman theater
  • gotten hit on by Ahmed the cute taxi driver
  • been stripped naked and scrubbed with olive oil by a fat Turkish woman
  • gotten hit on by Ahmed the kindly bookstore owner
  • spent evenings on the balcony, enjoying the breeze and watching wedding fireworks over the city

Bravo to Jordan, I say. Is your summer this much fun? I. think. not.

While I'm too old to get hit on by Ahmed's of any type, have you seen NORTH Korean waitressés dancing in perfect unison, playing accordions and twirling fast like tops? Or seen the floating village accidentally actually float by? Or, or seen the Yale Whiffenpoofs sing Midnight Train to Georgia in Cambodia? And have you looked at Clement's facebook status?

Bravo to you, I say. You have adventures and make any place sound oh-so-fascinating. Inherited that from that mother of yours, right?

Being evil, she really did have to rub it in.

Ginsberg--

It was at a Turkish bath, which was a fun experience, but not really one I'd care to repeat. I'm incredibly ticklish and so the part where I had to lie naked on a table and get scrubbed was pretty much torture. I'd recommend it for the non-ticklish, though.
